Jado Young Leader stand out from the crowd

At Jado Kuin Do we provide opportunities for young people to take part in our young leaders program. In the program we ask the students to participate in delivering portions of the class (warm up, stretching, assisting with teaching etc). At the end of the program they are certified as young leaders. Recently some of those young leaders have also gone on to becoming full instructors.

Miorri, is currently raising funds to participate in the 25th World Scout Jamboree. The World Scout Jamboree is a World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) event which happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country. In the summer of 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree.

A year ago, I applied for the 25th World Scout Jamboree and was shortlisted to attend a selection weekend with more than 80 scouts and explorers from Buckingham, Winslow & District Scouts. The selection camp involved various scouting activities and participants were assessed on their team building, problem-solving, learning and planning skills. In addition, each participant was required to demonstrate a skill or lead an activity of their own choice and attend an interview. I chose to demonstrate my martial art techniques that I have acquired from Jado Kuin Do. Last December, I learned that I was one of 4 participants that were successfully selected to represent the district scouts to attend the Jamboree which will be held in South Korea next summer. I am very thankful to Jado Kuin Do for the many years of training and the young leadership programme to make me stand out in the crowd. It has helped me develop, not only my physical strength, but also mentally to overcome the pressure and be the best version of myself during the assessment.

Miorri is fortunate enough to be one of the young people selected to represent Buckingham, Winslow & District Scouts, as part of Unit 57 (combined Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire), to attend the Jamboree next summer in South Korea.
